HISTORY
The Bath House began trading in 1738 under the name of Green
man and French Horn.
In the middle ages Soho known as St. Giles Field was farmland
owned by various religious communities. In 1536 the land was donated toHenryVIII
for use as parkland and hunting. The word “Soho” is said to
derive from a traditional hunting call.
There are two traditional explanations given for the name
of the Bath House, either that it was named after the Bath
Hotel in Arlington street or The Bath House in Piccadilly built by William
Pulteney, Earl
of Bath In 1983 The Bath House temporarily renamed “Sound and Vision” in
the punk years. In 1991 the venue was renamed The Bath House.
