HISTORY
Grade 2 listed building, built in 1736.
The story goes that if in the days before street numbering one did not have a sign, one could always make ones house more distinctive by painting a part of it. Blue painted posts seem to have been popular in the West End, they were used to advertise a fleet of sedan chairs plying for hire in the street.
