ABOUT THE MONUMENT
The Monument is situated at the northern end of London Bridge in the shadow of the column itself.
The pub has recently undergone refurbishment. Our fantastic new look combines the style & comfort you would associate with the city, while retaining the traditional qualities associated with a London pub. This is a professional run business with high standards and excellent customer service.

HISTORY
The monument Pub is located at 18 Fish Street Hill, City of London. We sit directly in the shadow of The Monument designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
The Column was built between 1671 - 1677 to both commemorate the Great Fire of London and celebrate the re-building of the city. It is 61 meters high incorporating 311 steps. At the summit a viewing platform allows climbers fantastic views of the London skyline.
Sixty-one meters represents the exact distance between The Monument and the Bakers House in neighbouring Pudding Lane. This is where the Great Fire began on Sunday 2nd September 1666. The fire destroyed much of the city. Finally being extinguished on Wednesday 5th September 1666.

The Monument is a long spacious venue ideal for any type of function. We can offer you an exclusive area of the pub that can accommodate twenty to sixty people comfortably.

Whole venue hire is also an option on weekends. We can accommodate up to 250 people and are licensed until 2am. With a dance area and V.I.P / Lounge area you can celebrate your special occasion in style.
