The pub was previously a bank and stands in a listed building, close to the Bank of England.
The Phoenix is proud to be famous for being London’s first non-smoking pub.
It was re-launched as ‘The Phoenix’ to signify ‘the Phoenix rising from the ashes’ in December 2003 well in advance of the 2007 smoking ban for England & Wales.
